![]() ![]() Given how successful the novels have been, it’s clear that the public’s love for the genre is as strong as ever. Currently there are three novels in the series The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm & Career of Evil. The novels have also been adapted for TV and are currently being shown on BBC One. Writing under the pen name ‘Robert Galbraith’, Rowling has created the Cormoran Strike series, a collection of detective novels around the exploits of gruff London detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant/working partner Robin Ellacott. One of the most recent examples of this has been J.K. Perhaps then, that’s why so many writers fall under the spell of writing mysteries. Whether it’s a novel, film, play, radio drama or even video game, there will always be an audience for a good mystery. Mysteries have always remained popular regardless of the form. A shocking murder, the intrigue and suspense as clues are gradually built up before our hero dramatically unmasks the culprit and reveals their downfall. Like most people, I’m always compelled by a good mystery. “How could the death of someone you had never met affect you so?” ![]()
